Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Metallurgist to lead optimization of mineral processing circuits at our client site in Klerksdorp. You will drive recovery, product quality, and cost reductions while guiding junior staff.

The role requires a degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering and 7+ years in base or precious metals processing, with strong modeling and analytical skills. Hybrid work enables on-site and remote data-driven planning.

Qualifications

Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years in mineral processing with base or precious metals.
Experience with process simulation and modeling software.
Knowledge of flotation, leaching, and refining processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication in a hybrid team setting.

Responsibilities

Develop strategies to optimize mineral processing circuits for recovery and efficiency.
Conduct lab and pilot plant tests to evaluate new technologies.
