Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Metallurgist to lead processing operations in Polokwane, enhancing mineral recovery and plant efficiency. You will drive process development, troubleshoot issues, and implement best practices to maximize yield while maintaining safety and environmental standards.

The role requires a degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering, 8+ years in mineral processing with 3+ in a senior capacity, and experience across gold, base metals, and PGMs.

Qualifications

Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data
Experience with process simulation and modeling software
Ability to lead and mentor metallurgists and technicians
Experience with multiple processing circuits (gold, base metals, PGMs)

Responsibilities

Oversee and optimize mineral processing plant operations.
Conduct metallurgical test work to evaluate new processes.
Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions.
Develop and implement quality control procedures for product specs.
Collaborate with mine operations and engineering teams to integrate processing with mine output.
