Job summary

Placements24 seeks an accomplished Metallurgical Engineer to join our Vereeniging processing plant operations. The role focuses on optimizing mineral recovery, ensuring efficiency and product quality, and overseeing design, operation, and troubleshooting of metallurgical processes.

The ideal candidate has a BSc/BEng in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering with at least 7 years of experience, strong problem-solving abilities, and hands-on leadership in a large-scale industrial setting.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng in Metallurgy or related field is required.
• Minimum 7 years in metallurgical processing, preferably base/precious metals.
• Strong understanding of mineral processing principles and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Optimize crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching, and refining processes.
• Conduct lab and pilot plant tests to evaluate new technologies.
• Monitor plant performance and metallurgical accounting data for improvements.
• Troubleshoot upsets and implement corrective actions for stability.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance for safe plant functioning.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and waste management best practices.
