Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a skilled Mine Surveyor to support on-site mining operations in Gauteng. You will lead precise surveys of open-pit and underground works, develop mine plans, and ensure data drives safe, efficient production.

The role requires a diploma/degree in Mine Surveying, 5+ years experience, proficiency with total stations, GPS, and software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Surpac, and MinePlan. You must work well in a team and maintain high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Mine Surveyor, preferably in a surface or underground mining environment.
• Proficiency with surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS receivers, and digital levels.
• Experience with surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Surpac, MinePlan).
• Strong understanding of mine surveying principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed surveys of open-pit and underground mine sites using advanced surveying equipment and techniques.
• Establish control points for mine workings and infrastructure.
• Prepare accurate mine plans, sections, and volume calculations for production and planning.
• Monitor and verify mining progress against planned designs.
• Collaborate with engineers and geologists to integrate survey data into mine planning software.
