Job summary

Placements24 seeks a skilled Mine Surveyor for an on-site role in Soweto, Gauteng. You will oversee surveying for open pit operations, establish sites, monitor progression, and reconcile volumes with geology data.

You will operate Total Stations, GPS/GNSS, and laser scanners, and use AutoCAD Civil 3D, Surpac and MX Deposits to produce survey plans and calculations, while ensuring data integrity and safety compliance.

Qualifications

Degree or diploma in Mine Surveying or Geomatics.
Strong surveying principles and data processing skills.
Experience with open pit mining environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct topographic surveys of mine site including pit floors, highwalls, and stockpiles.
Set out control points and survey grids for mining activities.
Monitor and report excavation progress and backfilling operations.
Utilise Total Stations, GPS/GNSS, and laser scanners for data acquisition.
Process and analyse survey data with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Surpac, MX Deposits.
Produce survey plans, cross-sections, and volumetric calculations.
Reconcile surveyed volumes with blast hole and geological data.
Maintain survey records and data integrity.
Liaise with mine engineers, geologists, and production teams to provide survey support.
Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
