Placements24 is seeking a Lead Mine Planning and Design Engineer for its Rustenburg, North West operations. The role leads a team responsible for strategic planning and detailed design of mining operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.

You will drive long-term viability through advanced modeling, collaborate with multiple departments, and deliver optimized production plans with strong leadership and technical oversight.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years experience in mine planning and design, surface or underground.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a technical team.

Responsabilidades

• Develop long-, medium-, and short-term mine plans and schedules.
• Oversee detailed open pit/underground mine designs (access, haulage, pit walls, stopes).
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for projects.
• Use mine planning software to optimize designs and production plans.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate with geology, geotechnical, operations and processing teams.
• Ensure designs comply with health, safety, environmental and regulatory standards.
• Develop best practices in mine planning and design and drive efficiency/cost savings.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
• Monitor performance against plan and adjust to optimize production and costs.
