Placements24 is seeking an accomplished Process Plant Manager to lead mineral processing operations near Polokwane. This senior role oversees safety, maintenance, environmental compliance, and production efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering, 10+ years in mineral processing, with at least 5 in a leadership role, and a proven record managing large plants in South Africa.

Qualifications

• Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mineral processing operations, with at least 5 years in a management role.
• Proven experience managing large-scale mineral processing plants, preferably in South Africa.
• Strong understanding of various mineral processing techniques and technologies.
• Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control costs, and drive operational improvements.

Responsibilities

• Manage all day-to-day operations of the mineral processing plant, including crushing, grinding, flotation, and other relevant processes.
• Ensure the plant operates safely, meeting or exceeding all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize production, recovery rates, and cost efficiency.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of plant equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the plant operations and maintenance teams, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
• Manage plant budgets, control costs, and ensure efficient resource utilization.
• Collaborate with other departments, including mining, engineering, and finance, to achieve overall business objectives.
