Placements24 is seeking a Senior Metallurgical Engineer to lead process optimization and innovation at facilities near Durban. You will drive metallurgical improvements, optimize mineral processing circuits, and mentor a dedicated processing team.

The role requires 8+ years in mining metallurgical engineering, strong leadership, and expertise in hydrometallurgy or pyrometallurgy. Relocation assistance is provided while contributing to safety and performance in a major operation.

Qualifications

8+ years in metallurgical engineering within mining
Experience with hydrometallurgy and/or pyrometallurgy
Strong leadership, problem solving and project management skills
Proficiency with process simulation software and data analysis

Responsibilities

Oversee and optimize mineral processing plant operations (crushing, grinding, flotation, leaching)
Conduct metallurgical test work and analyze data to improve recovery and concentrate grade
Troubleshoot operational issues and implement engineering solutions to enhance performance
Develop and implement process control strategies to maintain parameters
Mentor junior metallurgical staff and promote continuous improvement
