Placements24 is hiring a Senior Metallurgist for its Port Elizabeth processing division. You will lead metallurgical improvements, drive research and development, and optimize mineral processing to maximize recovery and product quality.
We seek an experienced professional with advanced degrees in metallurgy or chemical engineering, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record in leading projects within a mining context.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in extractive metallurgy.
- Base metals or precious metals processing preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mineral processing principles and technologies.
- Proficient with metallurgical simulation software and data analysis tools.
- Proven ability to lead and drive R&D projects.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and optimize metallurgical processes across plant operations.
- Lead lab and pilot plant testing to evaluate new technologies.
- Analyze plant data and implement corrective actions.
- Develop metallurgical accounting systems for accurate metal tracking.
- Provide mentorship to junior staff and ensure safety compliance.
