Job summary

C3 Resource Investments (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (10+ years) to lead the design and engineering of mechanical process equipment for demanding process plant projects in South Africa. You will provide technical guidance and take projects from concept through commissioning, with emphasis on pressure vessel and shell-and-tube heat exchanger design.

Ideal candidates hold a BEng in Mechanical Engineering and have at least 10 years of design experience in process

Qualifications

• BEng in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university.
• Minimum 10 years' mechanical design experience in process plant.
• Essential: proven pressure vessel and/or shell-and-tube heat exchanger design.
• Strong knowledge of process piping, equipment fabrication and manufacturing.
• Familiar with ASME/EN/SANS pressure equipment codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and review pressure vessels, heat exchangers and piping systems.
• Perform calculations, sizing and technical assessments.
• Develop and review mechanical specs, drawings and datasheets.
• Provide guidance to engineers, designers and draftsmen.
• Support projects through detailed engineering, fabrication and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards and client specs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and suppliers.
