Job summary

C3 Resource Investments (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (10+ years) to lead the design and engineering of complex process plant equipment in Centurion, Gauteng. The role requires technical leadership, oversight of projects, and mentorship of junior engineers and drafters.

Proven experience with pressure vessels and/or shell-and-tube heat exchangers is essential. You will supervise calculations, 3D models, and fabrication drawings while ensuring compliance with ASME/EN/SANS

Qualifications

• BEng Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in mechanical design within process plant engineering.
• Essential: Proven experience in pressure vessel and/or shell-and-tube heat exchanger design.
• Strong knowledge of process piping, mechanical equipment, fabrication and manufacturing.
• Experience leading engineering projects and technical teams.
• Familiarity with relevant pressure equipment codes (ASME, EN, SANS).
• Exposure to Autodesk Inventor, Plant 3D, PV-Elite or CAESAR II advantageous.
• ECSA professional registration (Pr Eng) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping systems and associated process plant equipment.
• Manage engineering projects from concept and detailed design through fabrication, installation and commissioning.
• Lead and mentor mechanical engineers and draughtsmen.
• Review engineering calculations, 3D models, fabrication drawings and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering codes, standards and client specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients and suppliers.
