Qualifications

• Matriculation (Grade 12) is required; a tertiary qualification or insurance certification is advantageous.
• Minimum 4 years of liability claims handling experience.
• Solid understanding of liability, negligence and indemnity principles.
• Proficiency with claims management software and standard office tools.
• Excellent investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload efficiently under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Receive, register, and thoroughly investigate new liability claims.
• Analyze policy coverage and determine liability based on case facts.
• Communicate with claimants, policyholders, legal representatives and others.
• Collect evidence, statements, and documents relevant to claims.
• Negotiate settlements within authority limits for fair, timely resolutions.
• Coordinate external providers such as loss adjusters and legal counsel when needed.
• Maintain accurate claim files and document actions and decisions.
• Identify potentially fraudulent claims and escalate for investigation.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations and procedures.
• Contribute to improving claims handling processes and client service standards at the Klerksdorp branch.
