Placements24 in Benoni is seeking a Senior Claims Handler to manage a portfolio of liability claims from notification to settlement. You will investigate, assess liability and quantum, and negotiate settlements with claimants and legal representatives.

This role requires strong negotiation, communication and analytical skills, a proactive, client-focused approach, and the ability to mentor junior handlers while staying compliant with South Africa’s insurance landscape.

Formación

• Minimum 5 years experience in liability claims handling.
• CIP or Law degree advantageous.
• Strong understanding of public, product and professional indemnity liabilities.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive and client‑focused approach.

Responsabilidades

• Manage a caseload of complex liability claims from notification to final settlement.
• Investigate claims thoroughly and gather documentation, evidence, and opinions.
• Assess liability and quantum; determine settlements per policy terms.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants, representatives and involved parties.
• Maintain detailed records on the claims management system.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
• Provide clear, timely communication to stakeholders.
• Identify subrogation opportunities and manage recovery actions.
• Mentor junior handlers on complex matters.
• Stay updated on legal developments and best practices.
