Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Claims Adjuster (Liability) in Cape Town to oversee end-to-end management of complex liability claims. You will mentor a team of adjusters, conduct thorough investigations, and negotiate settlements while ensuring compliance with policies and legal frameworks.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in claims with leadership experience, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and proficiency in claims software.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in claims adjusting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of liability insurance principles, investigations, and legal frameworks.
• Proven experience negotiating complex settlements and managing litigation.
• Strong leadership and motivational skills with excellent communication and reporting abilities.
• Proficiency in claims management software and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex and high-value liability claims from initial reporting to final settlement.
• Lead, train, and mentor a team of claims adjusters.
• Conduct thorough investigations, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and assess damages.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants, lawyers, and other parties.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and procedures; analyze data for process improvements.
• Prepare detailed reports on claim status and recommendations for senior management.
• Maintain meticulous claim files and documentation; build relationships with external stakeholders.
