Placements24 in Stellenbosch is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to oversee commercial and contractual matters, providing strategic legal guidance and leading a small team from a central office.

You will negotiate high-value agreements, ensure regulatory compliance, manage external counsel, and develop policies while mentoring junior staff. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring strong leadership and SA contract law expertise.

Qualificações

• Qualified SA lawyer with LLB and admission to the High Court.
• Minimum 8 years post-qualification experience in commercial law.
• Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts and advise executives.

Responsabilidades

• Provide expert advice on commercial agreements, supplier/customer contracts, IP licenses.
• Lead negotiation and drafting of high-value contracts, mitigate risks.
• Oversee contract management lifecycle: review, approvals, record-keeping.
• Advise management on governance, compliance and regulatory matters.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with external counsel on specialized matters or litigation.
• Develop and implement legal policies and procedures.
• Mentor junior legal team members.
