Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with a minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience in commercial law.
• Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Strong understanding of South African contract law, corporate law and industry regulations.
• Experience in dispute resolution and litigation management is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal advice on a wide range of commercial matters, including contracts, procurement and sales agreements.
• Draft, review and negotiate various commercial contracts to protect the company's interests.
• Manage and resolve legal disputes and litigation, liaising with external counsel when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Advise on corporate governance best practices and support board resolutions.
• Conduct legal research and provide analysis on complex legal issues impacting the business.
• Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures.
• Manage intellectual property matters and ensure proper protection.
• Support the procurement and sales departments with legal advice on contractual terms.
