Job summary

Belmond is seeking a Senior Journey Concierge in Cape Town to craft personalized journeys across Southern Africa. You will draw on deep regional knowledge, collaborate with partners and internal teams, and ensure every itinerary reflects Belmond’s standards of authenticity and discovery.

You’ll guide junior colleagues, manage quotations and reservations, and balance guest expectations with commercial aims, delivering memorable experiences for Belmond guests.

• Significant experience in luxury travel or destination management.
• Proven ability to design and manage tailor-made itineraries.
• Strong knowledge of Southern Africa destinations, lodges and travel networks.

The Senior Journey Concierge helps shape some of the most memorable journeys our guests will ever take. This role is about taking the time to understand what matters to each guest and thoughtfully curating experiences that feel effortless, personal and true to the destination.

Working closely with our team, you will bring together every element of a journey with care and attention to detail. You will build trusted relationships, share your knowledge of the region, and help ensure that every itinerary reflects the character, authenticity and sense of discovery that guests expect from Belmond.

As a senior member of the team, you will also provide guidance and support to colleagues, helping to foster a collaborative, curious and guest-focused culture. Reporting to the Reservations Manager, you will contribute to the continued growth and evolution of Belmond Journeys in Africa while remaining closely connected to what matters most: creating exceptional travel experiences for our guests.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Curate tailored journeys across Southern Africa that are thoughtful, seamless and personal to each guest
• Build and maintain deep knowledge of our destinations, properties, experiences and partners
• Work closely with internal teams and trusted partners to deliver the experience promised to every guest
• Collaborate closely with preferred partners to ensure they reflect the standards and experience expected from Belmond
• Identify opportunities to enhance journeys while supporting commercial objectives
• Ensure guest preferences, requirements and operational information are communicated accurately and on time
• Take ownership of issues as they arise and work collaboratively to achieve effective resolutions
• Provide day-to-day guidance and support, helping the team prioritise effectively and deliver consistently high standards
• Manage quotations, reservations and travel arrangements accurately and efficiently
• Support conversion of enquiries through timely follow-up and strong relationship management
• Maintain an understanding of rates, availability and commercial considerations to support sound decision-making

  Requirements

  What You Bring:

  • Significant experience in luxury travel, destination management, hospitality, safari operations or a related guest-focused environment
  • Proven experience designing and managing complex, tailor‑made itineraries for discerning travellers
  • Strong knowledge of Southern Africa's destinations, lodges, experiences, logistics and travel networks
  • A genuine passion for travel and creating meaningful experiences
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong administrative and reservation management capabilities
