Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Information Security Engineer to join a remote-first, globally distributed team. You will design, implement, and manage advanced security systems to protect digital assets and intellectual property.

The role requires deep expertise in security architecture, threat mitigation, and incident response, with autonomy to lead initiatives and mentor juniors from a home office. Excellent collaboration with global teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in information security engineering with a focus on security architecture and operations.
• Extensive experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies.
• Proficiency in multiple scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go, PowerShell).
• Deep understanding of network security, cryptography, and secure coding practices.
• Proven experience with SIEM, SOAR, and EDR solutions.
• Experience with penetration testing and vulnerability management frameworks.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and work in a fully remote, global team.
• Relevant advanced certifications (e.g., CISSP, OSCP, CCSP) are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure infrastructure solutions.
• Develop and implement security automation scripts and tools.
• Conduct advanced threat modeling, risk assessments, and security architecture reviews.
• Lead incident response efforts, including complex investigations and forensic analysis.
• Manage and optimize security technologies such as SIEM, EDR, firewalls, and cloud security platforms.
• Collaborate with software development teams to embed security throughout the SDLC (DevSecOps).
• Evaluate emerging security threats and technologies, providing strategic recommendations.
• Develop and enforce security policies and standards.
• Mentor junior security engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
• Ensure compliance with relevant security regulations and industry best practices.
