Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Information Security Engineer for a fully remote role. You will design, implement, and manage security infrastructure, working across firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and cloud security.

The position emphasizes embedding security in the SDLC and leading incident response with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate has 6+ years in information security, solid architecture experience, strong scripting skills, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of information security engineering or related security role.
• Proven design and implementation of complex security architectures.
• Strong scripting in Python or Bash and automation.
• Deep understanding of networks, OS security, and cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security solutions including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and SIEM.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures across the organization.
• Lead security architecture reviews and provide guidance on secure system design.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate weaknesses.
• Manage and monitor security infrastructure and respond to incidents and breaches.
• Automate security processes and operations using scripting.
• Collaborate with engineering to embed security in the SDLC.
• Stay updated on threats and technologies and propose improvements.
• Develop and maintain security documentation, playbooks, and IR plans.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
