Placements24 is seeking a Lead Industrial Systems Engineer in Cape Town to design, implement, and optimize complex industrial systems across the logistics network. The role requires strategic thinking, advanced engineering principles, and a track record of driving efficiency in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or Systems Engineering.
• 10+ years in industrial systems engineering, with 3+ years in leadership.
• Extensive experience with WMS, ERP, and automation technologies.
• Expertise in system simulation, modeling, and data analysis tools (FlexSim, JMP).
• Strong understanding of supply chain operations and logistics.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects end-to-end.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of integrated industrial systems, including automation, material handling, and information flow.
• Oversee the implementation of new systems and technologies, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Analyze system performance data to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for optimization.
• Develop and refine simulation models to test system designs and predict performance outcomes.
• Collaborate with operations managers, IT specialists, and external vendors to ensure system integration.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards and best practices for system design and maintenance.
• Manage project teams, timelines, and budgets for system engineering initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of industrial engineers.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for system-related issues.
