This role is critical in ensuring operational efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement across all production lines. You will be instrumental in analyzing complex manufacturing processes, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing data-driven solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing industrial processes and systems to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost.
• Develop and implement innovative process improvements, automation solutions, and lean manufacturing techniques.
• Conduct time and motion studies, workflow analyses, and capacity planning to optimize resource allocation.
• Design, test, and implement new manufacturing layouts and equipment configurations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and R&D, to ensure seamless integration of improvements.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and performance metrics.
• Utilize statistical analysis and modeling tools to predict outcomes and support decision-making.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on process engineering best practices.
• Ensure all implemented solutions comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
• Monitor the performance of implemented solutions and make necessary adjustments for sustained improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is advantageous.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with a focus on process optimization and manufacturing.
• Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies (Green or Black Belt certification preferred).
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic) and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD).
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience in project management, from conception to implementation.
• Knowledge of supply chain management and logistics optimization is a plus.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting within Cape Town .
