Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Lead Industrial Engineer to spearhead operational improvements at our Richards Bay facility. You will oversee a team of engineers and specialists, driving efficiency, quality, and cost reductions on-site in a key industrial hub.

You will develop strategic initiatives, implement new technologies, and align projects with long-term goals while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Strong leadership and Six Sigma expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years progressive experience in industrial engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred), and process improvement methodologies.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and operations research.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with relevant engineering software and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of industrial engineers in the design, development, and implementation of operational improvements.
• Develop and execute strategic plans for process optimization, lean manufacturing, and waste reduction.
• Oversee the implementation of new technologies and systems, ensuring smooth integration and minimal disruption.
• Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for performance enhancement.
• Collaborate with senior management to set operational goals and KPIs, and track progress towards achieving them.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and quality standards within the operational environment.
