Placements24 in Bloemfontein is seeking a Lead HR Generalist to steer daily HR operations, drive employee relations, onboarding, payroll, and benefits, and contribute to HR policy development on-site.

The successful candidate will bring a 7+ year track record in generalist HR, strong SA labour law knowledge (BCEA, LRA, EEA), and proven leadership to partner with managers in designing people-centred HR solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, industrial psychology or related field.
• 7+ years of generalist HR experience.
• Experience in employee relations, recruitment, and compensation.
• Knowledge of SA labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEA).
• Leadership or supervisory HR experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the full spectrum of HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations.
• Develop, implement and maintain HR policies and procedures in compliance with relevant legislation.
• Provide guidance and support to employees and management on HR-related matters.
• Lead employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive workplace culture.
• Manage disciplinary procedures and grievance handling processes effectively.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and maintenance of employee data in the HRIS.
• Collaborate with departmental managers to understand HR needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Assist in development and delivery of HR training programs.
• Stay abreast of changes in labour laws and recommend policy updates.
