Job summary

Curro Holdings Ltd. seeks a Mathematics and Physics Teacher (High School) for Curro Heritage House in Durban, starting January 2027. The role requires teaching and coordinating across senior phase subjects per Curro and IEB curricula, with a focus on knowledge transfer and learner growth.

The ideal candidate has a BEd/PGCE in the senior phase, at least 2 years’ experience, knowledge of IEB, and strong planning and communication skills. Weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• BEd degree and/or PGCE in senior phase education, with an honours degree in education (in the relevant subject/s) advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a senior phase teacher.
• Knowledge of the IEB curriculum.
• Proven facilitation, problem-solving and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills.
• Willing and able to work extended hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Teach and coordinate a range of subjects as per the Curro and IEB curricula for the senior phase.
• Plan lessons using modern-day tools and prepare workbooks; measure academic progress.
• Set up and monitor term plans, with differentiated learning materials for barriers to learning.
• Plan and manage the classroom, including the assessment roster and parent communication.
• Set up and manage formal and continuous assessments and homework; include moderation and revision.
• Plan extramural activities and provide one-on-one tutoring support.
