Job summary

Curro Edenvale Combined in Edenvale seeks a Mathematics Teacher (FET Phase) for full-time duties starting January 2027. The role involves teaching and coordinating a range of subjects per the Curro curriculum for the FET phase and fostering knowledge transfer and skills development.

The successful candidate will have a BEd or PGCE in FET, at least 3 years of FET experience, and familiarity with IEB. They should demonstrate strong planning, communication and the ability to work extended hours and

Qualifications

• BEd and/or PGCE in FET phase education; honours in education advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years' experience as an FET phase teacher.
• Knowledge of the IEB curriculum.
• Proven facilitation, problem-solving and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills.
• Willing and able to work extended hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Teach and coordinate subjects per Curro curriculum for the FET phase.
• Plan lessons using modern tools and monitor student progress.
• Set up term plans, adjust for exams and differentiated learning.
• Develop baseline assessments and advise subject choices.
• Manage the classroom, assessments and homework, including moderation.
• Organise extramural activities and provide extra tutoring.
• Communicate with learners and parents regularly.
