Curro Westbrook in Gqeberha seeks a Natural Sciences Teacher (Senior Phase) to join our full-time team from January 2027. The role delivers high-quality lessons aligned to Curro and IEB curricula, coordinates subjects and supports learner development through integrated teaching.

The ideal candidate holds a BEd and/or PGCE with honours, has at least two years of senior phase teaching experience, and demonstrates strong communication, planning and problem-solving skills.

Qualificações

• BEd degree and/or PGCE in senior phase education, with an honours degree in education (in the relevant subject/s) advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a senior phase teacher.
• Knowledge of the IEB curriculum.
• Proven facilitation, problem-solving and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills.
• Willing and able to work extended hours and weekends.

Responsabilidades

• Perform teaching duties, including planning lessons using modern-day tools and processes, setting up workbooks and measuring academic improvement and achievement.
• Set up, implement, monitor and adjust the term plan as necessary, considering exams, assessments and school activities as well as the need for differentiated learning materials to accommodate barriers to learning.
• Plan and manage the classroom, including the assessment roster, classroom design and set-up for optimal performance, disciplinary rules and communication with learners and parents.
• Set up and manage assessments (formal and continuous) and homework, including moderation, revision and supervision.
• Plan and manage extramural activities and outings.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring support and extra lessons.

Curro is seeking to appoint a high school senior phase teacher at Curro Westbrook in Gqeberha. The role involves teaching and coordinating a range of subjects as per the Curro and IEB curricula for the senior phase. The teacher is responsible for the active teaching, knowledge transfer, skills development and growth of positive attitudes among learners through integrated and focused teaching approaches.
