Placements24 is assisting a prestigious golf estate in Stellenbosch, Western Cape with the recruitment of a Senior Golf Professional and Academy Director. The role leads the golf academy, curriculum, coaching services, junior development and member experiences.

The ideal candidate is a PGA-qualified professional with 8–10 years of coaching and academy management, strong leadership, budget discipline, and a passion for elevating the game in a world-class setting.

About the Role

Our client, a prestigious golf estate in the heart of the Winelands, Stellenbosch, Western Cape , is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Golf Professional and Academy Director. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the golf academy, including curriculum development, coaching services, junior development programs, and the overall member and guest golf experience. The ideal candidate will be a PGA-qualified professional with extensive experience in high-level coaching, player development, and golf operations management. You will be instrumental in enhancing the reputation of the golf club's academy, attracting talent, and fostering a world-class learning environment. This position requires a blend of expert golf instruction, strategic vision, and strong interpersonal skills to engage with members, guests, and coaching staff. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the comprehensive golf academy program, catering to all skill levels from beginners to elite players.
• Provide elite-level golf instruction and coaching, utilizing advanced swing analysis technology and personalized training plans.
• Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of golf professionals and coaching staff.
• Manage the academy's budget, ensuring financial targets are met and resources are utilized effectively.
• Drive business development for the academy through targeted marketing, member engagement, and partnership initiatives.
• Organize and execute golf clinics, workshops, tournaments, and junior development camps.
• Ensure the highest standards of customer service and member satisfaction related to all golf academy activities.

• Stay abreast of the latest trends in golf instruction, equipment technology, and player development methodologies.

Requirements

• Full PGA membership (or equivalent international qualification) in good standing.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in golf coaching and academy management.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing successful junior golf programs.
• Expert knowledge of golf swing mechanics, biomechanics, and short game strategies.
• Proficiency with modern golf instruction technology (e.g., launch monitors, 3D motion capture, video analysis).
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire golfers of all ages and abilities.
• Proven experience in budget management and strategic business planning.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for the game of golf.
• Previous experience in a high-end golf club or resort environment is highly desirable.
