Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead geotechnical analyses for mining projects. This fully remote, permanent role supports slope stability, rock mechanics and ground support design from anywhere in the world.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in geotechnical engineering, hands-on experience with FLAC, UDEC and Phase2, strong data-analysis skills, and a proven ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience in mining.
• Strong knowledge of rock mechanics, mapping and ground investigation.
• Experience with geotechnical software and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical investigations for mining projects (slope stability, rock mechanics).
• Develop geotechnical monitoring plans using instrumentation and data analysis.
• Provide interpretation of geological data for mine design and operations.
• Collaborate with planning, engineering and operations across project phases.
• Prepare technical reports for stakeholders and regulators.
• Mentor junior engineers and stay current with software advances.
