Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Geophysicist to join the exploration team in Randburg, Gauteng. The role focuses on seismic interpretation to identify hydrocarbon reservoirs and guide drilling activities, with oversight of data processing and integration of geophysical data with geological information.
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s or PhD in Geophysics or related field, 7+ years of seismic interpretation experience, and proficiency in industry-standard software.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics, Physics, or related field.
- 7+ years in seismic data interpretation in Oil & Gas E&P.
- Proficiency with Kingdom Suite, Petrel, GeoGraphix.
Responsibilities
- Interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to map geological structures and hydrocarbon traps.
- Oversee seismic data processing workflows for data quality.
- Integrate seismic attributes with gravity, magnetic, and well data.
- Perform quantitative seismic interpretation including AVO analysis.
- Collaborate with geologists and reservoir engineers to define prospects and assess risks.
- Prepare geophysical reports and prospect evaluations for Randburg management.
