Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geologist for on-site work in Bloemfontein, Free State. You will lead exploration efforts, applying subsurface interpretation, seismic analysis and basin studies to identify and mature new resource plays. Collaboration with engineers and management will shape exploration strategy and asset growth.

The role requires 8+ years in exploration geology, advanced modeling skills (Petrel, Leapfrog Geo, Move), and strong communication to present findings to leadership.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Geology or related Earth Science discipline.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in exploration geology with emphasis on subsurface interpretation and prospect generation.
• Proficiency with geological modeling software (Petrel, Leapfrog Geo, Move).
• Strong understanding of seismic interpretation, structural geology, and sedimentary basins.
• Proven ability to integrate multidisciplinary datasets for subsurface analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present findings.

About the Role
