Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geologist in Pretoria, Gauteng, to lead geological evaluation of exploration targets and support development decisions. You will interpret data, build subsurface models, and advise on exploration plans as part of a dynamic geoscience team.

The role requires a Master’s in Geology (or related Earth Science) and at least 7 years of exploration geology experience, with strong skills in Petrel and Kingdom Suite.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in exploration geology with subsurface interpretation and modelling.
• Proficiency in geological software packages such as Petrel, Kingdom Suite, or similar.
• Experience with seismic interpretation, well log analysis, and core analysis.
• Solid understanding of structural geology, sedimentology, and sequence stratigraphy.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities for diverse audiences.

About the Role

You will be responsible for interpreting geological data, creating subsurface models, and providing expert geological input to support exploration, appraisal, and development decisions. Requirements

• Master’s degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science field.
