Communicate Finance in South Africa seeks an experienced senior bookkeeper/accountant to manage the full bookkeeping function up to Trial Balance across multiple entities. You will oversee AP/AR, VAT/PAYE/UIF, payroll, and reconciliations, while coordinating travel and leasing admin as required.

The role requires 10+ years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and leadership to guide a finance team toward timely, accurate reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full bookkeeping function up to Trial Balance across multiple entities.
• Process and capture all financial transactions while maintaining accurate accounting records.
• Maintain general ledgers and perform monthly reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Manage VAT, PAYE, and UIF submissions while ensuring ongoing statutory compliance.
• Administer and process payroll while maintaining employee records and related reconciliations.
• Manage lease‑related administration, monthly invoicing, and income tracking.
• Coordinate travel and logistical arrangements for field‑based employees when required.
• Reconcile mileage, travel expenditure, and employee allowances.
• Assist with month-end and year-end reporting processes.
• Prepare financial and payroll reports for management review.
• Work closely with external financial professionals to ensure reporting accuracy and compliance.
