Job summary

Communicate Finance is seeking an experienced bookkeeper/financial accountant to manage daily financial activities and month-end close. The role involves journal processing, reconciliations, VAT and payroll tax compliance, and cash flow monitoring within a multi-entity environment.

The candidate should have at least 5 years of bookkeeping experience, strong technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to work independently under pressure. Residence in the northern suburbs is advantageous.

Qualifications

• BCom Accounting or an Advanced Diploma in Accounting
• Minimum of 5 years' bookkeeping experience
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and organizational skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Results-driven with strong attention to detail
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Experience managing multiple entities and handling complex reconciliations
• Residing within the northern suburbs would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Financial reporting, journal processing, reconciliations, and month-end close activities
• Supervision and review of bank, petty cash, credit card, debit card, creditor, and debtor reconciliations
• Stock reconciliations, import costing, stock take administration, and related journal processing
• Submission and management of VAT, payroll taxes, withholding taxes, and other statutory compliance requirements
• Foreign payments, import/export administration, and related regulatory applications
• Fixed asset accounting, intercompany loan reconciliations, and royalty accounting
• Payment approvals, beneficiary verification, and implementation of fraud prevention controls
• Preparation of management accounts, audit files, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Daily cash flow management and investment account monitoring
• Providing support and backup for cashbook, creditors, and debtors functions when required
