Job summary

Exceed Human Resource Consultants in Stellenbosch seeks an experienced, self-motivated bookkeeper to manage the full bookkeeping function independently through to trial balance, across multiple entities, with strong attention to accuracy and controls.

You will process bank reconciliations, VAT, supplier invoices, payments, invoicing, revenue reconciliations and monthly management accounts, maintain the general ledger, and ensure audit-ready documentation for year-end preparations, collaborating

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ full-function bookkeeping experience.
• 2 years’ senior-level bookkeeping experience with minimal supervision.
• Experience with Xero or similar accounting software.
• Strong balance sheet reconciliation skills.
• Experience preparing monthly management accounts.
• Experience across multiple entities.
• Ability to meet month-end deadlines.
• Accounting/finance qualification advantageous.
• Hospitality, property, multi-site or intercompany experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage full bookkeeping through trial balance.
• Process and reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and cashbooks.
• Handle invoicing, collections follow-ups, and revenue reconciliations.
• Maintain general ledger, journals, accruals and fixed asset registers.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage month-end reporting across multiple entities.
• Assist with annual audits and year-end preparations.
• Liaise with operational teams for financial information.
• Calculate VAT and prepare statutory submissions.
