Job summary

Salix Recruitment in Gauteng seeks a qualified finance professional to lead the full accounting function in a regulated, fast-paced environment. You will oversee IFRS reporting, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and stakeholder engagement.

The hands-on leader will guide and develop the finance team, balancing strategic oversight with operational leadership and ensuring audit readiness.

Qualifications

Qualified CA(SA) with SAICA articles completed.
3+ years post-articles experience in financial services advantageous.
1+ year team management experience.
Strong IFRS knowledge.
Exposure to regulatory frameworks in financial services.
Advanced Excel skills.
Sage and CaseWare experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
Review financial statements for IFRS compliance.
Ensure regulatory compliance with financial services authorities.
Lead budgeting and financial planning cycles.
Review month-end files, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
Oversee journal entries and balance sheet integrity.
Prepare and review statutory returns.
Interpret financial results and provide actionable insights.
Manage external audit process and audit readiness.
Strengthen internal controls and governance frameworks.
Ensure compliance with Companies Act, IFRS, tax, VAT, and insurance regulations.
Maintain documentation standards aligned to regulatory requirements.
Manage and develop a finance team.
Set performance objectives and drive accountability.
Engage stakeholders up to management level.
Support business decision-making through financial insight.
