Job summary

Communicate Finance is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to oversee the full financial control function across multiple business units in South Africa. You will lead month-end, year-end closing, and the preparation of comprehensive reporting packs while ensuring IFRS compliance and robust internal controls.

The role requires at least five years in financial reporting, IFRS knowledge, advanced Excel, and strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of financial reporting and accounting experience
• Exposure to international markets, multinational environments or cross-border operations
• Strong IFRS knowledge
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full financial control function across multiple business units
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packs
• Review complex accounting transactions and reconciliations
• Manage month-end and year-end reporting processes
• Ensure IFRS and internal control compliance
• Coordinate audit processes and liaise with local and international stakeholders
• Assist with foreign currency transactions and reporting
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
• Drive improvements in financial controls and reporting processes
• Lead and mentor finance team members
