Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional accounting qualification (CA(SA)/ACCA/CIMA) required.
• Minimum of 8 years progressive experience in accounting/finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proficiency with SAP or Oracle and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting department: GL, AP, AR, and payroll.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements per IFRS.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting with department heads.
• Ensure compliance with statutory/tax regulations and policies.
• Manage external auditors, tax advisors, and banks.
• Provide financial analysis and reports to senior management.
• Drive improvements in accounting processes and systems.
• Manage cash flow and treasury; optimize working capital.
• Mentor and develop the finance/accounting team.

About the Role

Our client, a well-established and growing enterprise in the agricultural sector, seeks an experienced Financial Controller to oversee all financial operations in Paarl, Western Cape . Key Responsibilities

• Manage the accounting department, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to set financial targets.

• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
