Job summary

Röhlig & Co in Gauteng seeks a Senior Export Controller - Airfreight to manage exports, coordinate freight, and ensure compliance across the shipment lifecycle.

You will work at Head Office Linbro Park, leveraging your 5 years of export experience to optimize processes, handle customs clearance, and support clients with accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• 5 years export experience in freight forwarding (clerical role).
• Proficient in INCO terms and customs documentation.
• Strong knowledge of export control procedures and international trade basics.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate freight movements.
• Prepare service estimates and cost freight movements.
• Process customs and statutory documents for clearance.
• Maintain shipment files and handle insurance and claims.
• Ensure compliance with Customs Accreditation and quality management systems.

This role is based at Head Office - Linbro Park for our JHB Airfreight Branch.

Education

• Matric
• 1-year export related qualification at NQF level 3 and 4

Knowledge and experience

• 5 years export experience in freight forwarding industry in a clerical capacity
• INCO Terms
• Transport modal selection
• Carrier conditions of carriage
• Basic international trade principles
• Applicable sections of Export control Act
• Commercial, transport, carrier and statutory body documents & stamps
• Customs and other statutory body cargo clearance procedureExport freight document flow procedure
• Geography
• G+ programme
• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and Lotus Note)
• On Track programme
• Good communication skills (Written & Verbal). Client orientation
• Action and result orientation
• Time Management. Attention to detail
