Job summary

Boardroom Appointments seeks a Seafreight Export Controller based in Gauteng to manage the export flow for sea freight, update clients daily, and ensure shipments are prepared in line with procedures. You will coordinate with origin offices, collect booking details, and monitor progress to keep clients informed about timelines and costs.

The role requires Matric, 3–5 years in sea freight imports, and an Incoterms certificate; strong MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

Matric is required
3–5 years experience in the Sea Freight Imports environment
Completed Incoterms Certificate within the last 2 years
Computer literate MS Office Suite

Responsibilities

Receive new orders from Sales Representative or Customer.
Open a file immediately and keep all correspondence filed.
Contact the origin office to arrange shipment and liaise with shipper.
Provide booking confirmation, contract number and shipper contact details to our office.
Keep clients updated daily on shipment progress and status.
Prepare documentation for vessel departure and arrival per procedures.
Request ANFS/SOBS from lines and ensure data is loaded in the inhouse system for auto-reporting.
Request Clearing Instructions and documents from clients; invoice service providers.
Ensure invoices are issued within 24 hours after delivery; assemble and send document packs to clients.
