Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Design Engineer for a contract role with remote work plus occasional Mossel Bay site visits. You will design and develop electrical systems, create schematics and PCB layouts, select components, and verify through thorough testing.

Collaboration with firmware and mechanical teams will be essential for successful system integration. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years in hardware design, with

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in electrical hardware design and product development.
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout software (Altium, KiCad).
• Strong analog and digital circuit design, microcontrollers, and power management.
• Experience with embedded systems and firmware integration.
• Familiarity with testing and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage project tasks.
• Occasional travel to Mossel Bay, Western Cape.

Responsabilidades

• Design and develop electrical systems and sub-systems for new product development.
• Create detailed schematics, PCB layouts, and wiring harness designs.
• Select appropriate electronic components, considering performance, cost, and availability.

• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
