Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to work remotely, supporting clients nationwide from Mossel Bay. You will lead design efforts, create schematics, perform load calculations, and prepare BOMs. Strong autonomy and high-quality documentation are essential.

The role emphasizes collaboration with project managers and other disciplines, using AutoCAD Electrical and Revit MEP to deliver compliant, innovative electrical systems across sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical design with a strong project portfolio.
• Expertise with AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP or similar software.
• Solid understanding of power distribution, lighting design, and low-voltage systems.
• Excellent remote collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage time in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design process for new projects from concept to detailed design.
• Develop comprehensive electrical schematics, layouts, and wiring diagrams using CAD software.
• Perform electrical load calculations, system sizing, and component selection.
• Write detailed specifications and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate with remote project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines via virtual tools.
• Ensure designs comply with national and international electrical codes and standards.
