Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Systems Designer to lead the design and development of sophisticated electrical architectures. This remote-first role supports cross-functional, globally distributed teams from anywhere in South Africa, including Benoni and beyond.

You will conceptualize, design, and validate complex systems, mentor junior engineers, and drive technical direction and innovation in a flexible work environment that rewards autonomy and excellence.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in electrical system design with complex integrated systems.
• Experience with power, control, automation, and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design of complex electrical systems and define specs.
• Develop detailed schematics, P&IDs, and control system designs.
• Perform advanced electrical analysis, including power flow, transient stability, and SIL assessments.
• Select components, hardware, and software ensuring compatibility and performance.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and mechanical teams to ensure integrated design.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and drive design excellence.
