Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to spearhead electrical design for utility-scale renewable energy projects in the Stellenbosch area, with a hybrid work model enabling focused work from home and on-site collaboration.

You will develop detailed schematics, specify equipment, and provide technical oversight through construction, commissioning and handover, while mentoring junior engineers. Strong leadership and communication are essential in this growing renewable energy sector.

Formación

• Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering with renewable energy project development.
• Extensive knowledge of grid-tied power conversion technologies and energy storage systems.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the electrical design and engineering for utility-scale renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS).
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and connection studies.
• Specify balance-of-plant electrical equipment, including inverters, transformers, switchgear, and cabling.
• Conduct grid interconnection studies and ensure compliance with utility requirements.
• Provide technical oversight during the construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
• Mentor and guide junior electrical engineers and design teams.
