Job summary

Armstrong Appointments is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a senior, hands-on role in South Africa. You will report as 2IC to the Head of Technical, overseeing construction and operations for solar and wind assets and leading a growing technical team across Africa.

Responsibilities include reviewing plant performance, managing EPC and O&M contractors, and supporting lender due diligence. Travel across Africa and strong technical leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires Degree/BTech in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in utility-scale projects.
• Experience with wind and solar in Africa is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight to construction and design engineers.
• Review plant performance and manage O&M contractors.
• Support availability and performance reporting.
• Engage in lender due diligence discussions.
• Conduct site visits and technical due diligence.
• Interface with development teams on technical aspects.
