Placements24 seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer with a Renewable Integration focus to join our client’s Soweto team. You will design and implement electrical systems that integrate solar and wind into the grid, advancing stability and efficiency.

The role demands deep power systems expertise, hands-on experience with grid studies, and leadership to mentor junior engineers while collaborating with operators and stakeholders to meet interconnection standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with at least 4 years in renewable energy integration and grid studies.
• Proficiency with power system analysis software (PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD).
• Knowledge of grid codes and interconnection standards.

Responsabilités

• Design and engineer electrical systems for the integration of renewable energy projects into the grid.
• Perform detailed power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis.
• Develop technical specifications for grid interconnection equipment, protection schemes, and control systems.
• Collaborate with project teams, grid operators, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with interconnection standards.
• Oversee the commissioning and testing of integrated renewable energy systems.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
