About the Role

Our client, a key player in the South African energy sector, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to contribute to their power generation and renewable energy projects based in Klerksdorp . This role involves the technical oversight, design input, and project support for a diverse portfolio of energy generation facilities, including conventional power and emerging renewable sources. Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot complex electrical issues in power generation and transmission systems. Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international electrical standards and safety regulations. Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and external consultants. Contribute to feasibility studies and technical evaluations of new energy projects. Mentor junior electrical engineers and provide technical guidance. Stay current with advancements in power generation technologies, grid modernization, and renewable energy integration.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, with significant focus on power generation (conventional and renewable). Demonstrated experience with high voltage systems, switchgear, transformers, and protection relays. Proficiency in electrical design software and power system analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E). Strong understanding of renewable energy integration principles and grid codes. Experience in project management or leading technical teams is a plus. Professional Engineer (Pr.
