Placements24 seeks a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead operations at its power generation facilities in Vereeniging. The role focuses on reliable, safe electricity production, overseeing electrical systems, equipment, and maintenance programs.

You will drive diagnostics, implement preventive and predictive maintenance, and mentor a team of engineers and technicians while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years in electrical engineering with focus on power generation facilities.
• Experience with high-voltage systems, generators, transformers, switchgear, and control systems.
• Proficiency in electrical design software and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of power plant operations, safety regulations, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment within power generation plants.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for critical assets.
• Conduct root cause analysis for electrical failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Manage electrical engineering projects from concept to completion.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of electrical engineers and technicians.
