Placements24 in Klerksdorp is seeking a Senior Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our critical operations team, focusing on power generation facilities. You will perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on generators, switchgear and control systems to ensure reliable power supply.

You will mentor junior technicians, interpret complex schematics, and respond to emergencies with rapid, effective solutions, upholding strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Trade Qualification (electrician) or ND in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of electrical maintenance experience in power generation/heavy industry.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot high-voltage equipment and systems.
• Strong safety knowledge including lockout/tagout and electrical regulations.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including high-voltage switchgear, transformers, generators, and motors.
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Interpret schematics, blueprints, and manuals to diagnose faults.
• Install, test, and commission new electrical equipment and control systems.
• Mentor junior technicians and enforce safety standards.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and quickly restore power.
