Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our client in Klerksdorp, South Africa, to lead design, construction, and commissioning of electrical systems across conventional and renewable power projects. The role supports HV systems, protection schemes, and grid integration.

The candidate should have 8+ years in electrical engineering, Pr. Eng. is highly desirable, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects in a hybrid work environment. Relocation to Klerksdorp may be needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering, with emphasis on power generation (conventional and renewable).
• Experience with high voltage systems, switchgear, transformers, and protection relays.
• Proficiency in electrical design software and power system analysis tools (ETAP, PSS/E).
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration is highly desirable.

Responsabilités

• Provide expert technical input on design, construction, and commissioning of electrical systems for power generation facilities.
• Oversee electrical aspects of projects involving solar PV, wind, and other renewables.
• Conduct load flow, protection coordination, and fault studies; review electrical drawings and specs.
• Mentor junior electrical engineers and guide technical teams.
