Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on renewable energy systems (solar PV, wind, BESS).
• Proven experience in electrical system design, including power systems analysis and simulation.
• Proficiency with electrical design software (e.g., ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP).
• Solid understanding of grid interconnection requirements and power quality issues.
• Experience with project management principles and working in a hybrid on-site/remote team setting.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA or eligibility for registration is highly desirable.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop electrical systems for renewable energy projects, including power generation, grid connection, and energy storage.
• Perform electrical load calculations, circuit design, and protection coordination studies.
• Specify electrical equipment, including switchgear, transformers, cables, and inverters.
• Develop single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and panel layouts.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical systems on project sites.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues encountered during project execution and operation.
• Ensure compliance with national and international electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., SANS, IEC).
• Collaborate with project managers, mechanical engineers, and construction teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Conduct site inspections and feasibility studies for potential renewable energy installations.
• Mentor junior electrical engineers and provide technical guidance.
